English Requirements for Our Courses
If you would like to study at Pacific Training Group, we do have some English Requirements that you need to be aware of before you apply. To be accepted into a course with Pacific Training Group you must have an upper-intermediate level of English or higher. We assess your eligibility in the following ways:
English Test Evidence
Test results must be no more than two years old. This must be provided unless exempted for visa application purposes with the Department of Home Affairs.
- An IELTS certificate showing a score of 5.5 or higherA TOFEL certificate showing a paper-based score of 527 or an internet-based score of 46 or higher
- A Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English with a score of 162 or higher
- A Pearson Test of English (Academic) certificate showing a score of 42 or higher
OR
English Education Evidence
- Enrolment in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Offshore Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course; or
- An upper intermediate certificate from an accredited English language school; or
- Completion of at least 5 years’ study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland; or
- In the past two years, completion of either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate IV or higher level, in Australia and in the English language while holding a student visa.
OR
An LLN Assessment
Pacific Training Group offer a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment: Students who do not have formal evidence of their English proficiency will undertake an LLN Assessment, which is conducted during enrolment.
